Ryan Kirkham receives “Realtor of the Year” award from UAR

Ryan Kirkam is the managing broker of the Salt Lake Office for Summit Sotheby’s International Realty and was recently awarded with the “Realtor of the Year” award at the 2017 UAR Inaugural Dinner for his service and dedication to the real estate industry.

Ryan has been a REALTOR® for over 20 years and specializes in single-family homes and investment properties. He is currently serving as the President of the Utah Association of REALTORS® and in 2009, he served as the President of the Salt Lake Board of REALTORS®. He has served on the University of Utah’s Young Alumni Board as well as on the Utah Division of Real Estate’s Broker Pre-license Curriculum Committee. Ryan hold the real estate designations of Graduate REALTOR Institute, e-Pro and Short Sale Specialist.

He has a family of nine and loves the Utes!

Summit Sotheby’s International Realty attends 22nd Annual Luxury Real Estate Fall Conference

The 22nd Annual Luxury Real Estate Fall Conference is hosted by Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate Chairman, John Brian Losh, and is one of four annual exclusive events that bring together the most prominent luxury real estate professionals from across the globe to discuss current real estate trends. The Fall Conference took place from Sunday October 1st through Wednesday October 4th in the beautiful historic Fairmont Royal York in Toronto, Canada.

The four-day affair brought together real estate professionals and keynote speakers from around the world to connect, share and discuss the latest trends in the luxury real estate industry. Several sales associates from Summit Sotheby’s International Realty were in attendance including Scott Maizlish, Nancy Tallman, Mary Ciminelli and guest speaker Thomas Wright, President and CEO of Summit Sotheby’s International Realty.

Enjoy the world-class talent from our own Utah Symphony, paired with the best in classic rock, country, show tunes, pop, jazz, and of course, chamber and classical music galore. The festival includes 16 concerts over a five-week period, including 12 “main stage” concerts at Deer Valley Resort’s Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater in Park City and four chamber concerts at St. Mary’s Church in Salt Lake City. The Deer Valley Music Festival will open at the beginning of July with a patriotic concert, featuring Broadway and opera singer Lisa Vroman with the Utah Symphony Orchestra.

Other highlights scheduled to perform with the symphony throughout the summer include: Leslie Odom Jr., the Beach Boys and Ben Folds Five. “America’s band” The Beach Boys — synonymous with sun, surf and endless California sunshine – will perform their good-vibe music with the Utah Symphony on July 8th. Boasting three dozen U.S. Top 40 hits (the most by any American rock group), The Beach Boys’ chart-topping hits include “Surfin’,” “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “I Get Around,” “Kokomo,” “Help Me Rhonda” and “California Girls.”

Summit SIR celebrates 1 Year in St. George!

We celebrated the first anniversary of our newest office this past month. One year ago we opened the doors to our Southern Utah office in St. George, and we thank you ALL for being a part of our success. Park City Board Awards and Summit SIR recipients

Recently the Park City Board of Realtors held their Annual Awards Party at the Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley. Patti Wells was awarded the REALTOR® of the Year Award. This special award is given to an active REALTOR® member of the Park City Board of REALTORS® who best exemplifies and promotes a positive REALTOR® image through the highest levels of service within the real estate community and the local community at-large. Longevity of Board membership, consistency of service, continuous participation, and activities within the Board and in business as well as significant contributions to the real estate community will be considered when determining the recipient.

Tami Whisker received the Meritorius Service Award and Dave Johnson, Managing Broker for Summit Sotheby’s International Realty, received the Directors Award.

2017 Summit Sotheby’s International Realty Cares

Summit Sotheby’s International Realty and its sales associates recently donated $70,000 to local Summit, Wasatch & Salt Lake County non-profits via its philanthropic 501(c)3 group called “Summit Sotheby’s International Realty Cares”.

During the month of March, Summit Sotheby’s International Realty offices around the state held their annual SSIR Cares Presentations. Each year, agents work together to make personal donations and raise money to help benefit both local and national non-profit organizations. The presentations were an emotional display of the passion our sales associates have for their communities. In total, 35 non-profits were presented checks resulting in over $70,000 of donations.

“Thanks to all of our sales associates and vendors, we are thrilled to be able to benefit these 35 local non-profit organizations,” Summit Sotheby’s International Realty President and Principal Broker Thomas Wright said.

“I am very happy that our organization can do so much good by spreading our donations across such a cross-section of local non-profits. Giving to these non-profits, and the others that we have contributed to over the years, makes it all worthwhile at the end of the day,” said Wright. “These contributions demonstrate how seriously Summit Sotheby’s International Realty regards its efforts to make a difference in the local community.”

At the close of every escrow, our sales associates and real estate brokerage firm voluntarily donate a portion of their earnings to local 501(c)3 non-profits. We refer to the funds donated as “Summit Sotheby’s International Realty Cares.” Through this program and fundraising events like our “Summit Sotheby’s International Realty Cares Golf Tournament”, Summit SIR provides its agents, as well as clients and vendors, the opportunity to participate in giving back to the local community.

Planned Parenthood, Volunteers of America, Curesearch Children’s Cancer, Ride to Cure Diabetes, Huntsman Cancer Institute, MS Ride – Fee Fee’s Flyers Team, Children’s Center, Christmas Box, Choice Humanitarian, Make A Wish Foundation, and Handful of hope attended our presentation in Salt Lake City to receive their checks.

Why did we choose New Story as a partner?

100% of donations go directly to the field. They operate with completely separate overhead cost so every dollar donated goes straight to building homes.
Donors have the ability to see the exact family they’re sponsoring, along with the supplies and costs their donation is covering. In the beginning, the donor receives a photo of the family and their story. When the home is completed, they are delivered a move-in video to share in the excitement of this incredible effort.
They hire local labor and buy domestic materials to boost the country’s economy. New Story does more than build houses – they provide jobs and economic stability for the communities they service.

KPCW 2017 Winter Pledge Drive & Summit SIR

KPCW Radio is a non-profit, volunteer supported organization whose mission is to educate, inform, entertain and provide access to a diverse community with quality local, national and international programming.

On-air since July 2, 1980, KPCW 91.7 FM reaches 73% of all adults in the Summit and Wasatch counties in Utah at least once a week, 12 times more than any other radio station in the area. For 55% of the “Wasatch Back” population, KPCW is the “most trusted” news source and serves as the only daily source of local information.

KPCW asks its listeners for support in bringing daily, original news, information and entertainment focused on Park City, Summit and Wasatch Counties

Recently Thomas Wright, President and Principal Broker, and Dave Johnson, Managing Broker, led the fundraising on Valentine’s Day for Summit Sotheby’s International Realty during the KPCW pledge week. Sales associates, staff and supporters of Summit Sotheby’s International Realty called their pledges in or donated online.

KPCW gives non-profits a voice by offering a free forum for other non-profits in the community to let people know about upcoming events. By listening to KPCW, I know what music and theatrical events are playing around town. KPCW is the place to listen for all the great work that our nonprofit community does in the area.
The volunteer DJs at KPCW make it really feel like a community radio station. Each DJ shows their personality with the music they play and I LOVE IT. No matter if they are young or old DJs, it makes KPCW belong to community.
KPCW is able to reach out to the Latino community with Cada Domingo, a Sunday evening program that translates the week’s news into Spanish. Cada Domingo helps keep the Latino population informed and a part of the community.
KPCW provides a free Lost &Found service online where people can find their lost dog or wallet. It is a great resource for the community and an instantaneous way to get your lost or found information out there.
KPCW’s news department provides the information listeners need. Hourly local weather & traffic, City government, planning and County Commission as well as trail reports and lost & found are unavailable anywhere else. They always manage to show “both side” of a story and listeners are always informed and “in the know” by tuning into KPCW.
