Scott Neilson is a veteran educator and soldier who has been involved in Utah’s real estate market for several years. He is passionate about service and loves helping others succeed, especially his clients. Scott specializes in selling luxury homes in Salt Lake County, Utah County, and throughout central Utah.

Scott is a native of Fairview, Utah. After graduating from high school, Scott served a religious mission to central Peru. Upon returning home, and while working towards a college degree, Scott married his wife Camille in 2002. While attending college, Scott developed a love for education. In 2006, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education, specializing in Political Science, History, and Spanish. In 2015, Scott obtained a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from Brigham Young University. He taught high school AP U.S. Government, European History, American Wars, and U.S. History for 16 years. During that time he coached football, wrestling, and baseball. Scott is involved in Utah’s wrestling community and is a certified state and NCEP wrestling coach and official.

Scott is a combat Veteran. In 2009, Scott joined the U.S. army and attended the United States Army Infantry School at Fort Benning, GA. In 2010, Scott attended and graduated from Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. After his time on active duty, Scott returned to Utah and joined the Utah National Guard. In 2011, Scott’s military unit was activated and he deployed to central Afghanistan for 12 months in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. During his 12 year military career, Scott served as platoon leader, executive officer, battle captain, company commander, and staff officer while attached to the 101st Airborne Division and Utah’s own 300th Military Intelligence Brigade.

In 2016, Scott was elected to the Utah State Board of Education representing District 13. During his four years as an elected official, Scott dedicated himself to improving the public education system and serving Utah’s school children. During his last year on the Board, Scott served as the Finance Committee Vice-Chairman, where he helped manage Utah’s multi-billion dollar public education budget.

Scott’s top priority is his wife, Camille, and their four children. He enjoys volunteering in his church and community. During his limited free time, Scott loves reading, baseball, snowboarding, and exploring Utah’s great outdoors.
